Diliman Pulungang Recto, Bulwagang Rizal. The event was entitled Ang Kurditang Iluko sa Panitikang Pambansa. The Writers' Kwentuhan Series, now on its fifth season, is sponsored by LIKHAAN: The U.P. Creative Writing Center (U.P. CWC). HIdalgo, who has been coferred recognition by the CCP and the UMPIL, is considered the Father of the Contemporary Iluko Kurditan (Literature). He is a poet, editor, novelist, and translator. Rambaud -- the associate editor of Bannawag -- was one of the 1999 Gawad Emmanuel Lacaba (Best New Writer) winners. He is a poet, novelist, short story and comics writer. Nisperos was a fellow in the 1996 UP CWC National Writers' Workshop. A poet, he is in the editorial staff of Bannawag. The series was originally
designed to allow Creative Writing students to meet and exchange ideas
with invited writers in an informal atmosphere. The guest writers read
from their own works, and engaged the audience in a lively discussion.
U.P. CWC Director Cristina Pantoja Hidalgo opened the Kwentuhan Series,
while CWC Associate Aurelio S. Agcaolili -- himself a renowned poet and
fictionist in Iluko -- acted as emcee/moderator.
